Author Visits

Wonder Works Children’s Museum is proud to welcome early childhood picture book authors to our museum through our Author Visit Program — a magical opportunity for little ones to discover the people behind the stories they love.

Each visit invites young readers and their caregivers to gather for a story time led by the author themselves, followed by a personal book signing where children can meet, chat, and share in the joy of books firsthand. Select titles will be available for purchase on-site, making it easy to bring a signed keepsake home.

These events are designed for the earliest of readers — from curious babies and toddlers to budding book lovers in early elementary — and embrace the wonder, imagination, and playfulness that great children’s literature sparks.

Avani Chhaya–  Lakshmi on the Lake

Lakshmi’s week is chock-full of adventure! From admiring sprawling cypress trees with Mama to birding with Daddy, and packing parathas for picnics with Nani, Lakshmi is eager to explore every inch of the great outdoors. But she soon realizes there is much more to each place than meets the eye. What will she uncover at the lake? In a stirring story about the joys of being in nature, author Avani Chhaya reminds us that the greatest experiences, and even greater discoveries, can often be made in our own backyard and shared with the ones we love.
