Background on the Parent and Caregiver Programming Program

In 2022, Wonder Works, in partnership with the Collaboration for Early Childhood, received a Birth to Five implementation grant designed to connect more families to early childhood resources and family support, and to amplify awareness around the benefits and availability of affordable preschool programs. We are thrilled to announce that the grant has been renewed for us to continue this important work for another year!

How did this partnership come about? In the Spring of 2022, the Governor’s Commission on Equitable Early Childhood Education and Care Funding made several bold recommendations on ways to provide more equitable access to high-quality early childhood care and education services in Illinois. One of those recommendations was to give grant funds to local early childhood collaborations to deepen their work and to jumpstart new local collaborations focused on strengthening those early childhood systems. Wonder Works and the Collaboration for Early Childhood share goals for young children and families so we teamed up to strengthen early childhood systems of support together through programs specifically designed for parents/caregivers of young children.
