August 6 through August 17

- Wonder Works goes wild this August with Wonder Animals, two weeks of hands-on exploration into the animal kingdom from August 6 to August 17! Families can get up close with live snakes during Touch and Learn encounters presented by Mr. Robert of the Chicago Herpetology Society, then discover real animal artifacts with Allison Price from the Lincoln Park Zoo and explore animal-themed exhibits from the Field Museum.
Throughout the museum, children can dive into animal-inspired play at every turn:
- Wonder Zoo Play Zone – A wild play area for budding zookeepers
- Veterinarian Play Station – Care for animal patients and learn how vets keep pets healthy
- Fire Station – Meet our resident stuffed Dalmatian dogs, a firehouse tradition
- Exploration Station – Examine animal pelts and other artifacts from the Field Museum
- Art Room – Create animal pattern collages and design your own animal mask
- Great Outdoors – Camp out in a tent to live with woodland creatures and explore their habitat.
- Gross Motor Skills Zone – Dress up and move like the animals! Waddle like a penguin, hop like a kangaroo, and race in a sack like a seal
Admission includes access to all Wonder Animals activities, encounters, and exhibits.
