Playful Pairings Wine Tasting: a Wonder Works Fundraiser
June 24 from 6pm - 7:30pm
The Playful Pairings Wine Tasting will raise critically needed funds to support the mission of Wonder Works Children’s Museum. With your generosity, our museum will continue to create and offer high-quality play, arts, literature, science and nature experiences for ALL children in our community. Hands-on play helps children grow into curious, confident, life-long learners. Thank you for joining us at the wine tasting and providing support that is essential to the continued success of our non-profit museum.
The Playful Pairings Raffle will feature the following items:
- 2 tickets to the June 29 Alex Warren concert with Noah Cyrus at the United Center ($400 value)
- A JEM Spa Gift certificate for a diamond glow facial ($250 value) with a Skinmedica radiance collection kit ($60 value)
- 1 round trip to O’Hare or Midway voucher from OPRF Limo ($250 value)
- 4 North Goal Tickets to your choice of a 2026 regular season Chicago Stars FC home match played at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium (about $100 – $130 value, depending on the match)
- A beautiful Mandala marble and acacia wood cutting board and 2 Mandala Marble and acacia wood coasters from CultureGraft ($82 value)
You can purchase single tickets or ticket bundles for individual ticket discounts.

Come play with wine in support of Wonder Works!
The Playful Pairings Wine Tasting Wonder Works Fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, June 24 from 6-7:30pm at a board member’s home in River Forest.
Tickets for this Wonder Works fundraiser are $75. A portion of ticket price will be tax-deductible.

During the Playful Pairings wine tasting, Jane Norrington will show us how to pair different wines with food to bring out exciting notes to our palates. The most unusual food can bring out unexpected notes in wines. When you leave the Playful Pairings Wine Tasting, you’ll have learned about how to pair wine and food, discovered some new wines to serve this spring and summer, and had a great time with new and old friends!
Jane will guide us as we taste four carefully selected wines that are perfect for spring and summer entertaining. No wines will be sold at the Playful Pairings Wine Tasting event, but all wines sampled will be available at local wine stores.
Sommelier Jane Norrington will share a variety of delicious wines for spring and summer and show us how to pair them with unexpected food items.
About Jane Norrington – Playful Pairings Sommelier:
Jane’s wine journey began 24 years ago when she first stepped into a wine region. From that moment on, she immersed myself in the world of wine, visiting regions across the U.S. and around the globe, learning not just about the grapes and terroir, but also the incredible people behind each bottle.
To complement her hands-on experience, she pursued formal education, earning my WSET Level 2 in Wine (with Distinction) in 2021, followed by WSET Level 3 (with Merit) in 2023. In 2025, she began working toward my Bordeaux Masters certification. These credentials allow Jane to share her passion for wine in a deeper, more informed way and to help others grow their own knowledge and appreciation.
Jane leads private wine tastings in Chicago and virtually, offers concierge wine buying, manages personal wine collections and designs custom wine trips for clients.
As an independent wine professional, she is not affiliated with any brand, company, or winery—which means her recommendations are always tailored to your tastes, preferences, and interests without bias or limitation.
The Playful Pairings wine tasting will not offer any wines for purchase but all can be purchased locally.
